The Bazaruto Run – with Anantara
The 2019 Mozambique Bazaruto run by Anantara. Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort & Spa on Bazaruto Island, Mozambique, who we have been working with for the past 18 years, is organizing a community run on the 23rd June 2019.
This will be the first of its kind event on the Archipelago and will feature a two family runs of 3 and 5 km and two trail runs of 10 and 21 km. The event is open to all and a lot of contestants from the local communities are expected to enter as well as other Mozambican and International participants.
The run will be followed by a Family Brunch on our Garden, Surrounded by our “Bazaruto Run Village”, with local entertainments and booths.
As has been the case for many years, Anantara, previously known as Indigo Bay, is going the extra mile to conserve the archipelago’s natural resources and support its communities.
The resort has been involved in many community projects over the years and all funds from the Mozambique – Bazaruto run by Anantara, will be used for the completion of the local Health Center project. The Clinic / Health Center construction begin in 2017, solemnly funded by Anantara and many of its guests who helped with generous contributions.
Seeing the building is now completed, this healthy and educational event, is striving at helping to fund the necessary material and medical equipment needed to get the Clinic to start operating at an ideal pace and benefit the 3 700 people that live on the Bazaruto Island.
Participants or not, everyone will make a difference!
