2 from 2 on a half day…

After almost three weeks of flat calm weather, we had a front move in on a few days ago and we could not fish yesterday due to some pretty nasty weather.

This morning we woke up and although it was still blowing hard and looked very grey

We are all feeling a tad bit land sick and just want to be out there, so along with @christiaankruger on Grande Azul we decided to go out for a few hours.

Cold and miserable in the rain to start with but the seas were not as bad as we expected as we put the baits out around 11am.

Right off the bat ando n na inside turn at the bottom end of VI mile we get a bite on the swim bait, D.A makes a perfect drop, hook´s up and brings the #250 in to time for Fisher to wire and let it go.

It’s been a difficult season when it comes to bait and we are not known for being the most patient to fish for them so quite desperately we have been pulling a couple rapalas and daisy chains close to the boat when pulling the baits or lures to try and stock up on some more bait.

Then about an hour later we AGAIN hooked up on the rapala / minie eye daisy chain combination on the light tackle #20-pound bait rod.

A few moments of chaos as the 100-pound fish went over the bait lines, got caught on the skip bait but with great job from the crew, this time Fisher brought in the fish for D.A to wire and we let go the second of the short day.

Great bite & amazing boat vibe on Vamizi can only mean one thing – Lots of fish…

We still had a third fish come into the spread, scratch the shit out of the swim bait but never got a bite out of it and as it started getting pretty gnarly in the afternoon so we made an early comeback and not looking so good for tomorrow…we shall see!

Grande Azul got a small one on the @pulsatorlures big Marlin magnet and @brucecookefishingcharters on Dorado was the only other boat out there and they pulled the hook on a nice one looking about #700 on a lure close to the boat after an hour!

Hopefully we can get a few hours in there tomorrow….weather looking pretty good after that!

And that´s 3 from 5 for D.A and Fisher in the first day and half fishing, now we just got to find a real nice one, but having great fun while doing it 😉

Fish on Dorado and on IBO

We did not fish yesterday because of wind although we did go and catch bait for about three hours on the inside…

2 from 2 today and raised another 2

Beautiful calm day, started with the baits in the morning and when we were about to change to the e lures to go wide got a big boil on the long swim and 2 minutes later on the short swim, scratched the shit out of it but never even opened the clip.

Just then IBO came past us and hooked up on the lure on a real nice one, probably the same fish but pulled the hook.

Went wide and we released a Striped Marlin, then on the way in raised a small Black on the short but no bite out of it. Switched to the baits and a 2pm on the dot hooked a 300 on the swim that was a real frisky and good fun fish and released that one for D.A

Veleiro got a small Black and a Blue, Reel Screamer 2 Blue and missed a Striped, Grande Azul 1 from 1 on a Black, Dorado 0 from 3 on Blacks and IBO 0 from 2 on Blacks.

Yesterday a few Blue and Striped released and the best fish was a #400 Black on Dorado.

Flat calm again tomorrow…let’s see!!!
