Dudas first Blue Marlin!

The 13-year-old boy had a small week-long holiday from boarding school and got home to find a crazy big low-pressure system that lasted for like 5 days with rain and crazy wind, and impossible to do what he most likes doing – fishing!

He was supposed to get back on Sunday but when we saw that there was a good weather gap we decided to postpone it for a day and take him out on Sunday aboard Salt Shaker with @dupeugene to try and get his first Blue!

After catching a bunch of scads early morning went out wide and mid morning we had this hot fish come in on the short teaser, the 1305 from @moyesbiggame put the bait out but the fish would not switch and disappeared for over a minute.

Put the teaser back on and she was all over it again and this time made a perfect switch and aggressive bite and we hooked up.

Duda’s first time on the Black Magic and he did an awesome job on a very spirited fish that gave us a nice show by the boat.

This is his 4^th Marlin.

His first Black back in 2020 when he was 7 on a spinning rod….

Sequence of Dudas fighting is first Blue Marlin aboard Salt Shaker

Thanks to @christiaankruger for the pics, not great quality but amazing memories.

They were next to us on the Grande Azul and hooked up right next to us while we were busy, pulled that one but then hooked up again as we let ours go and released a striped Marlin.

We had another one on the same teaser minutes later but did not switch…

Thanks to @bobmarlin for the great gear and keeping him away from the sun as Dad forgot sunscreen!

Vamizi also doing a great job last few days and catching them up on the @pulsatorlures for our clients staying at @anantara_bazaruto
