Marlin report – rainy weather and family business
Marlin Report – Rainy weather and family business: A small report as we had some really bad rainy days where we did not see the sun and then just as it ended we had some bad news and I had to fly out to Portugal and with all three boats booked for for the next two weeks, the boys took on the reigns and did an absolute brilliant job…
Thanks guys, you make me really proud!
It’s been such a good but in so many ways an odd season. It should be the other way round but after absolutely calm and beautiful sunny weather for a large part of the season going back all the way to early September to early November we now have all this wind and rain!!!
What can you say and do but carry on, even if in the Maelstrom!
That first (main) pic is of the #600 we caught with Carl Jankowitz on his last day.
Great way to finish it off and end the trip on a high…
Nice acrobatic and full of nonsense one as well!
Yesterday, the 13th of November looked fantastic and there were tons of kawa’s and cuta on the inside and we literally saw skipjack schools on the outside all day.
So nice to see so much bait…
But, tough day for everyone as they seem to be of the bite and some odd behaviour, we got one about 350 all wrapped up on the live bait and pulled close and had one bite the swim but no pick up.
Drop Your Rods also missed one on the swim and there were even three fish we know of raised on live bait that would not eat.
Our sister boat IBO got a little Black, Marlin let go a 250 Blue and Reel addiction got s striped
@dean23taylor and @juzza_landrey7 also got a striped out wide on Reel Addiction

Really skinny one but how beautiful are those colors on this striped Marlin released aboard Reel Addiction by @dean23taylor and @juzza_landrey7 out wide!
This morning we said goodbye to Peter and Denise Whistney who caught a couple including a #900 a couple days ago and looking forward to having them back next year October
Here are a few more pics from the last few days…

Marlin Report – Rainy weather and family business
Two Black Marlin caught aboard VAMIZI on what as, so far been an absolutely epic season which started up with less big Black Marlin than usual but with a absolutely amazing Blue and Striped Marlin bite and then the big fish turned out pretty good with some consistent big fish action every single day for a good part of three weeks…
On the other hand mostly in the shallows there has been a very active little bite on tiny ones, such as this beautiful guy, while boats are making bait.
Very nice to see and it surely gives good hope for seasons to come!
This little guy caught on a lure aboard VAMIZI was one of about 6 we raised in a small shallow area outside 6 mile in the space of half an hour a few days ago!
Blowout today but it has been a real pleasure to fish with Mark Davis and meet his wife Wendy – such wonderful people.
We have one more day to try and catch him a nice one really hope we can find her as he really deserves it…
