Last days of an epic Marlin Season at Bazaruto: Although we official finished the Heavy Tackle Marlin Season at Bazaruto on the 29th November with a 800 pound fish which was our last group for the season the boys carrying on fishing mainly with resort tourists and also a few groups we have that will be mixing it up between popping and jigging with, if conditions are right, some Marlin fishing in between.
Here’s the report for the last days of the season;
On the 1st IBO went out for a half day of some light tackle game fishing and along with many game fish they ended up with a small Black Marlin release.
Some pics from a few fish from early December including @mally.macgregor and @jamie.macgregor2 Blue aboard VAMIZI and a another little Black caught in the green shallow water on light tackle.
Into the first week of December it was a pity no one was actually fishing for Marlin as the fish where there and boats light tackle game fishing had a good amount of bites.
Then Ryan on Drop Your Rods started fishing on the 3rd specifically targeting them and went 1 from 4 on the first day.
He then went on to have a bunch of bites and released a good number of fish along with some sailfish as well in the next few days.
Drop Your Rods had a great trip to Bazaruto during the first week of December 2025, releasing a good number of Black Marlin
A few nice fish caught aboard VAMIZI during early December at the tail end of our heavy tackle Marlin season – however there where still many fish to be caught in the next few weeks….
