Bazaruto Blue Marlin Winter Bite: Bazaruto Blue Marlin Bite is exceptional during this time of year and just so frustrating that we don’t get more clients wanting to Marlin fish this time of year, which is also one of the best times to visit Vilankulos and the Bazaruto Archipelago!!!

Because, very uncharacteristically for the time of year, the game fishing was rather slow the last couple weeks it as been quiet easy to convince the guys to go out and we have averaged better than a Marlin a day since even though we normally only spending 4 to 6 hours out there on a daily basis.

There has also been some good Tuna fishing out there and although we only found school YFT the boys up north have found some good fish in the 40 kilo category.

The same down in Maputo / Inhaca / Santa Maria area, how’s this beast of a Yellowfin (81 kg) caught by Zuber Martins down there last week!

The last three days were really great and we ended 6 from 8 on Blue Marlin including a #600 and a #500 and raised a total of 12 fish in that time!

On Friday we had some incredible tuna action in the morning!

Absolute chaos with Yellowfin Tuna and Skipjack, we would have a full house on the bait rods and two guys would cast in the bow and hook up straight away!

Total pandemonium and great fun.

We then raised one but no bite out of it and then released one for @g.velloza first ever Marlin

We had gnarly weather on Saturday but fast action in the morning. We got to the area at 8 and hooked up straight away and @zimshawn released the first for the day. Set them up and straight 10 minutes later hooked a double for Andrew Ross and Ant Hoare and released both.

Then we hooked up on another which doubled up on me and we rode it over (yeah I messed up – shit happens)! Then we hooked the 5th fish for the day which pulled the hook and raised a 6th fish that would not bite.

It was all the boys’ first ever Marlin!

Yesterday we had a slow start but found a floating fad late morning and enjoyed some fun on skipjack, rainbow runners, tropical Yellowtail and lost a good wahoo.

Around there we finally hooked up and @jvelloza released that one and then just before we up lines at 2pm we got another for Paul Bartman
