First time anglers release #800 Black Marlin aboard Vamizi

With water temperature finally getting almost to 26c and electric Blue water the beginning of November as provided a great bite with some nice ones around.

On the 2nd we released a 1,100-pound fish aboard Big Bob

You can see that report here:

And then started back on Vamizi on the 4th with a group from Malawi for three days.

Here´s the day-to-day account

04.11 – Half Day

We went 1 from 3 on a #800

Late start and we put the lures out at 10h30 and half an hour later had a small guy take the Marlin Magnet from #pulsatorlures but come undone.

About an hour later we had a fish looking about #500 miss the Xpress.

We then switched to the dead baits and just before 2pm we had the most insane bite on the skip bait.

Hooked it good and 22 minutes later Naddem Batha released his first ever Marlin.

Yes babyyyyy!!!

Fished a bit more with the light tackle to get some bait and back early.

Just a pity we did not get a better shot of the fish.

Our group of first-time anglers from Malawi only fished for 4 hours on their first day as there was some wind in the morning. It was their first ever fishing experience and in the first four hours they got 3 Marlin bites releasing an 800-pound Black Marlin that put on a great show…

05.11 – Full Day

1 from 3….again!

Spent a lot of time bait fishing this morning then put the dead baits out but very quiet in the morning with the beast from the East doing its thing.

We picked up a scad, then lost a YFT by the boat and then a nice size rainbow runner.

Put the dead baits out at around 9am but it was slow going in the morning.

But everything changed with the incoming tide…

At 13h20 have one come and knock the swim bait but no pick up.

Fifteen minutes later a #250 took the swim bait and Sufian Omar released his first ever Marlin.

The fish was on absolute steroids and gave the boys a hell of a show boat side.

Just before heading in for another bait session have a little one about #100 come on the rather big rainbow runner Skip Bait.

Was there for ages trying to figure out how he was going to eat it.

We finally got the bite but unfortunately the fish, which I think was wrapped, got some slack right by the boat and came undone.

Pretty cool afternoon…
