Video: Aboard The Bad Company Fleet – unbelievably!

Recently we posted about the Bad Company World fishing tour visiting Bazaruto including the first part of the documentary which they made about that trip.
The second part of the documentary is called Challenges in East Africa… and rightly so!
During their first week or so of fishing the Archipelago they encountered Bazaruto at its best but later on, the water turned and they faced some trials. Well, anyone who has fished Bazaruto knows how magnificent this place can be, but it can also be one of the most challenging places to fish for Marlin anywhere on the planet and thus its magic.
After 25 years of fishing the archipelago, to me, and along with all three techniques (dead baits, lures and live baits) working well at different times is what makes it so interesting and unique.
As Steve said;
Here the Black Marlin pile on the lures like I have never seen Blacks do anywhere else!
But most of all what I enjoyed and agree so much is when he said;
What´s cool here is that the technical part really comes in – weather, wind, tides, current, getting in and out of the cuts, how far you run out – just a lot to it!
Keep´s you thinking, you have to think more here than anywhere I have been!!!
That’s a pretty big and bold statement from someone who has literally fished almost all over.
Thus, the mystic of the Bazaruto Archipelago!

The 175 and Game boat of Bazaruto Island in the late afternoon light – not a bad place to come back to after a day’s fishing on the Archipelago.

I had just returned from the trip to the GBR and while there, even with the insane time difference, kept in daily contact with Anthony who had invited me to join them for a couple days fishing.
As it happens and for personal reasons Miguel, a friend from Maputo had to cancel two days and I was able to join Anthony, Steve and the team for a couple of days before starting our next charter.
Despite the green water and a stiff SE breeze we managed to start the day pulling on a 500-pound fish and raised a total of 9, most small and lazy bites but we did release a couple and had a great day. The next day we pulled the hook-on a fish north of 500 and raised a few more.

Little guy with a big attitude caught on the Bad Comp….

Great time and pleasure to meet everyone, Anthony, Steve and every single crew member on the 175 and game boat which all made me feel welcome and most of all it was so nice to feel that everyone was in awe with Bazaruto´s energy, fishery and vibe!
Here’s the second half of the documentary;
Enjoy!
