This year´s winner was the Dogs Bollocks in Cape Verde for winning the 2024 BMWC with an 845-pound fish…

Big congrats to Capt. Stuart Simpson at the helm with angler Ron Kiwaja hosted by the owner Mark Milner from Pelagic.

The fish came to the Dogs Bollocks teaser by Bonze Lures, but never switched and dropped back to eat the Bonze Viper.

CONGRATS GUYS!!!! Well done….

The two weeks prior to the day Madeira had been producing a few good fish and everyone had high expectations.

The last time Madeira had won was in 2019 with a 541-pound Blue caught aboard the Sorted.

It just shows that you don’t necessarily need a HUGE fish on the day!

Amazingly the first fish to be weighed this year came from Madeira and aboard the Sorted, but this time the 557-pound fish would be far from a win.

Sorted who has previously won the Blue Marlin World Cup in 2019 caught a 557-pound Blue Marlin in Madeira Island which was not enough to take the win this year!

Cape Verde is always a top contender and it’s really been on fire for the last few years with 4 winds since 2020

In 2020 La Onda Milla won with a 964 pounds Blue Marlin…

A year later it was Blue Hunter´s time to win it with a smashing 1053 lbs fish…

In 2022 it was My Victoria´s turn with a 950-pound Blue Marlin – this fish had not entered the BBC which was won by a Done Deal in the Gulf of Mexico with a 586.5 lbs fish.

Before these three consecutive winning years the last time CV had won was back in 2010 when Happy Hooker weighed one that went 1 097 pounds.

And this year they did it again as soon after Sorted in Madeira called in their fish, Dogs Bollocks reported they had boated one which measured 126 x 70 which put it well above.

Amazingly and also in Cape Verde the evening before, 2022 winners My Victoria hooked a big fish and apparently fought it into the night and boarded it early the next morning.

The fish ended up weighing 1037 pounds!

A 1037-pound fish weighed in CV on the 4th of July – however this fish was not eligible for the tournament as it was hooked on the evening of the 3rd July!

In Bermuda two fish were weighted both well under the benchmark set by the CV fish.

And the De-Bait-Able also weighed a Blue Marlin in Bermuda, this one at 636 pounds.

This year Kona has been having the most insane season and thus it was a long wait as the quantity of the fish being caught there in previous weeks was nothing short of spectacular with a few nice ones in the mix.

They had also won it the previous year with an 834.50 fish aboard the Apex, but…

…in the end Dogs Bollocks great fish was the winner of the 2024 BMWC

Congrats…!
