Kids Catching Couta Off The Beach at BD to be BANNED
Kids Catching Couta Off The Beach at BD to be BANNED: It was an easy decision – after photo after photo came through. Of these kids hauling couta out by the tail. Fish after fish. From the beach!

I reckon kids should ALL be banned from BD forever! Adults getting sick and not being able to go to work. The economy is gonna crash! This has to stop! – Sean
Over to Duarte…

The whole gang with uncle Earl and the first of many cuta they caught over a magical weekend at BD… Thanks Mark, Earl and Linda for taking the kids for such an unforgettable experience!
Two weekends ago I was booked throughout but the boys were invited by mates of ours to go on a beach fishing trip to BD, two-hour drive north of us and they experienced a King Mackerel festival of the beach none had remotely had before with some barracuda, grunter and a few other species to compliment a truly magical weekend.
We have done a lot of previous trips to the area and have enjoyed some great fishing there, off the beach and also fishing off a dhow where years ago Duarte Jnr caught his first Marlin on a light spinning stick on a local dhow we had rented.
You can see that story and video here…

Little Duarte used to release a bunch of barracudas right in front of the house at the spring high, as well as small trevally, rockcods etc on the spinning sticks. With bait we used to get a lot of crocodile fish, bream and grunter on the other side of the spit – and the occasional cuta (king mackerel) but this time it was different…
They got there late on Friday and only had a few bites on the small spoons they were casting at sunset. But the next morning when they geared up on some bigger plugs, stick baits and GT ice creams it went wild…

King Mackerel festival off the beach – Duarte with yet another nice cuda on the light spinning tackle off the beach…
Obviously not expecting so much action from the toothy gang there was a lot of tears with cut off leaders but by that afternoon they were geared up properly and up to Sunday morning they smashed them with 22 caught and a few released, mostly cuta (King mackerel) some of which some great size along with some pinkhandle and great barracuda on the spinning gear and some other good fish on bait, including a what Earl told me later was a beast of a grunter which Duarte lost right by the shore.
Absolutely amazing fishing and all going well we will be back there this coming weekend as Daddy really wants to get into the action as well… 😉
Enjoy the pics!!!
