18 fish raised on Linene Maiden Voyage
After a lot of work and a mission to get her up here we could not have asked for a better maiden voyage for Linene beauty of a @buttcatboats releasing 8 blues from 13 bites and a total of 18 fish raised in a couple of days of Bazaruto.
Its been a phenomenal bite for months which started strong in May and just kept going but reaching new levels the last couple of weeks with all the boats enjoying some truly epic fishing.
As it happens with new boats we had a late start on the first day, the 14th of September.
We had a stiff wind from the East and some choppy seas to contend with and it was all quiet until around 10h30 when all hell broke loose…
We run two loaded lures on the longs and three two teasers of the bridge and a third very short of the teaser rod.
The first fish came on the left teaser but we missed it. It was Warren’s first ever time pitching so we had to pay our dues but as expected he was a fast learner.
Ten minutes later we had one bite the long left Xpress, hook up and we released the first for the day, a Blue around #350

We were still putting the long’s out when we had one pile up on the Magnet by @pulsatorlures that we let go and within 20 minutes had a double – one on the lure and the other on the pitch that we released.
We then missed another on the pitch and started heading back early to deal with some boat issues but still raised one last fish on the magnet.
Back early and on the way in we still raised another lazy one on the Magnet.
4 from 6 and a 7th fish raised on Linene shakedown’s maiden voyage…

Earlier start on the 15th but again a slow morning for everyone but again they come in real fast around noon and we in a very short space we ended up releasing three from 5 bites and a total of 8 raised.
Two fish did not switch and then we had one that piled on the teaser of the day, the big Tube from @pulsatorlures that got bill wrapped and we fought it off the electric teaser reel for a while before coming undone.
Crazy shit!
The first two did not switch mid morning, then it turned on just past eleven and we missed one and straight after hooked another but pulled the hook, both on the Xpress by @ilandluressa
15 mins later hooked one on the pitch and while pulling in the @pulsatorlures magnet hooked another and released a double
Ten minutes later another came on the tube which switched and we got the third of the day.
Well done to @warrenchapman71 going 100% on the pitch only on his second day ever doing it!
Then we had that last one that got wrapped on the teaser.
Live baited some skipjack shallow end of the day and released a bronzie.
Other boats also have a ball for the day…
DUR went 3 from 3 on blues including a double and raised a Black
Salt Shaker went 2 from 2 on blues
Veleiro raised one did not switch
Up north, Legasea went 4 from 6 on Blues and raised a pack attacked from stripes that did not connect!
Couple hours before flying out!
We got a couple hours on the morning of the 16th aboard Linene before Warren flew out and went 1 from 1 on Blues on the pitch and raised another 2 that did not switch.
The big Tube from @pulsatorlures raising them up again & their chuggers doing what they do on the pitch
Also had one scratch the shit out of the Sumo by @moyesbiggame
We had other clients fishing on Vamizi and they went 3 from 5 up north and got stuck into some big Yellowfin as well and lost a really nice one that they lost after 2 hours on the bait sticks.
Veleiro went 2 from 4 releasing a Blue and a Striped and that is all the boats that I know were fishing for the day.

What a pleasure to fish on this full customized beauty she is unbelievable and so looking forward to the rest of the season aboard this amazing @buttcatboats
She needs some tweaks so we are taking her out for some work and back at it next week!
It’s really hard not to be fishing the next few days – but what a great time & bite!!!
