Bazaruto Sailfish Competition 2020 coming up!
The Bazaruto Sailfish competition is to be held in May coming right up. May out in the waters surrounding the Bazaruto Archipelago, is sailfish time. They visit in shoals – some days double-figure release counts are heard all over the airwaves. Especially during the annual Bazaruto Sailfish Competition. Staged right in Vilankulos, overlooking the islands, this event is running once again. Shot pal. -Xona
Organized by Big Blue and hosted by Vila Do Paraiso, this sailfish catch and release event is now in its 7th year. It is one of the most enjoyable, relaxing and fun get-together type event of its kind. And the vast majority of participants have been making the journey and entering the event right from the first years.
Always good to meet up with everyone, the folks in town real get into it as well and the deliciously prepared dinners after the daily prize giving, are always a blast. The guys at VDP really put up a great spread with a pig on the spit after the Captains meeting, followed by some great nights of barbecue´s, seafood and curry nights throughout the week which culminates in a couple of sheep on the spit on the last day after the final prize giving.

Right, so if a Bazaruto Sailfish or three are on your bucket list, the 2020 Bazaruto Sailfish Competition is one helluva opportunity. The entire fleet focuses on catching sailfish and so information on the sailies whereabouts and feeding preferences are shared by all.
