Bazaruto Marlin Update mid Oct-26

Quick update as we wait for a very welcome two-day southerly to blow itself out.

After a very steady bite for the last few weeks, water warmed up drastically, current shifted a tad east (never a good thing here), water greenish on the inside and a complete lack of bait which as made for hard condition’s as we fished with Warren & the gang for five days the last week.

On the 16^th we never saw a fish but did find a floating fad late afternoon and had good fun on dorado, wahoo and YFT.

On the 17^th after some game fishing in the morning it was dead slow until the last hour when we missed a small fish, caught one and then had another knockdown with no pick up, all on the swims.

1 from 2 on Blacks and raised another, all in the last hour aboard Linene…

Late finish and then to the sand-spit for a nice gin & tonic and some wahoo carpacio!

18.10.26 – Saw 7 in total…

1 from 3 on Blues, raised a striped that did not switch and had three small lazy Blacks…

Pulling the dead baits this morning had a little one scratch the shit out of the swim and another #200 missed the skip.

Went wide and had one #400 come up on the short teaser, while we switched the long goes and we then missed the switch and were unlucky to pull the hook on the second fish.

15 mins mater had a striped Marlin on the teaser but did not switch.

Then hooked and released a Blue on a lure.

Late afternoon we had another take a swipe at the swim but no pick up.

The tube from @pulsatorlures getting them up and the Stubby doing the dirty work on the long!

Unlucky but good fun day all round….
