Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort & Spa

where we based out of during the season is offering great specials at the moment on all-inclusive accommodation and complimentary transfers for these season packages and doing PCR tests on the Island for ease of travel.

It’s a great location with very comfortable all-inclusive accommodation, superb food, diversity of other activities and amenities for the family and short runs to the fishing grounds in an absolute beautiful setting.

Anantara resort on Bazaruto Island provides a very scenic and ideal location to fish East Africa´s best Grander Marlin grounds and target that elusive Giant Black Marlin

Good early Season results

Normally we only start around early to mid-September but this year we had a very early start and where catching small Blacks by early August and by the end of that month had our very first guest specifically targeting them. Coming from the US, John Brager had a great early season trip releasing 5 from 11 Blue & Black marlin to #550 pounds.

You can see that report here;

This was followed by a few good but slower days when the current slacked off and changed to the East but still producing Michael’s Velloza first ever Marlin release along with some good game fish.

The Bazaruto Archipelago – East Africa´s best Grander grounds for Giant Black Marlin
At the moment and normally mid-October the Archipelago is visited by migrating humpback whales that can be seen in large numbers while plying the waters of the Bazaruto Archipelago. Thank you to Dom from Sailaway Dhow Safaris from the great picture…
Although rarely seen in the area Orca sightings have become more common place in the last few years, normally in the coldest winter months of June and July. But, just a couple of weeks ago this Orca was seen stranded at low tide at Barra beach, about 180 miles south of the Archipelago. The effort of many local operators made sure she swam back into the Ocean…
